Animals, especially insects, are closely tied to specific plants and living conditions which allow them to exist in their habitats. Any change to these living conditions can cause plant species to die. Then, insect species at the bottom of the food chain die out, which in turn kills the predators above them in the food chain resulting in a chain reaction devastating entire ecosystems.
